PRINCESS MONONOKE and YAKUSHIMA
‘Princess Mononoke’, the Studio Ghibli animation, was inspired by the thick forests of Yakushima. Hayao Miyazaki stayed in Anbo and roamed the forests with his crew before drawing the storyboard.
